USSF Referees: The Third Team

Georgia Revolution FC needs you! Becoming a USSF Referee is one of the highest honors in the game, any current USSF Soccer officials interested in officiating matches for Georgia Revolution FC, please see the following:

Register on Stack Officials using your US Soccer Learning Center email address
Complete your pay-profile and USSF certification information
Contact David Morrison, USSF Referee & Assignor
Send a copy of your USSF License to the assignor
Set your availability on Stack Officials for the days & times you are available

**Adults Needed. If you are 18 or over, we need you. Please consider becoming a referee. For legal reasons, we have to assign matches per USSF Policy that are age-appropriate.

Earning your badge . . .

Regardless of your background in soccer, you can see and understand the game unlike anyone else. To start your journey, visit the US Soccer Learning Center and register for a new referee class. Once you become certified, please follow the instructions above.

What you’ll need . . .

There are many different vendors that provide the official US Soccer Referee uniform, but the official USSF-sponsored resource is Official Sports International. By all means, you are allowed to purchase elsewhere as long as it is the current style. Items you’ll need:

Uniform (yellow and green to start, but eventually you’ll need all the colors)
Black athletic shoes or cleats (can have white accents)
digital watch
Assistant referee flags
A bag for your gear
Red/Yellow cards
And of course . . . a whistle (no pea whistles)

What to expect . . .

If you’re a brand new official, you’ll be assigned to matches that provide you the best opportunity to grow and eventually thrive as a US Soccer Official. At first you will be assigned as an Assistant Referee (AR), and depending on your current skill at the time, you’ll start being assigned as the Referee on small-sided matches with a mentor to guide you.

Referees make their own hours as independent contractors.

About the Assignor

David Morrison is a licensed veteran USSF referee & assignor through Georgia Soccer & The Metro Atlanta Referee Association (MARA). Additionally, he officiates matches for the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) & the Georgia Soccer Officials Association (GSOA). His referee experience has spanned from recreational soccer to professional leagues. In addition to assigning matches for Georgia Revolution FC, he also serves another metro Atlanta club and has served to assist assigning for the USYS National League & Georgia Soccer State Cup & Presidents Cup.
